Gambling on Paper
If you are looking for books on gambling to put on your shelf and to enhance your gambling knowledge, here are some suggestions:
For the more modern gambling fans out there, the book by Marten Jensen entitled Secrets of the New Casino Games would be perfect. Like other gambling books, it tells of the gambling games found in casinos. The difference lies in the type of gambling games written in this gambling book. The gambling games found in this book are more modern, just recently developed. Thus, only a few other books discuss about them. Examples of the gambling games tackled in this book are Let It Ride, Casino War and Sic Bo. This book indeed is a good help if you want to explore on the other newer gambling games. However, be careful with the information handed to you by this book, some were found wrong, especially in the Casino War section. Try to confirm the information first with other gambling fans that you know before using them.
While the first book mentioned here is for beginner skills, the next one is for the more advanced. In his book entitled Gambling 102, Michael Shackleford talks about the mathematics of gambling games. Why is the title Gambling 102? Simply because the author skipped the basics of the gambling games and proceeded on telling the mathematical analysis of the gambling games. A very interesting feature of the book is the NFL sports betting. Not many other books talk of the same thing, so in a way this book is kind of unique. Much of the information here is found on the internet as well, but many gambling fans would advice you to buy this book still because it comes very handy. You could trust the tips given here because the author is a gambling expert, unlike the authors of other books who do not have a clue of what they are talking about.
We increase the notch higher with the book by James Grosjean entitled Beyond Counting. If the Gambling 102 of Shackleford touches on the mathematics of gambling, this book on the other hand is purely about the mathematics of the game. The book's mathematical approach is to heavy to digest that even the advanced players are not advised to buy this book, unless they are really intelligent. However, if you could understand half of what he's trying to say, then buy this book, it would be helpful for you because only a few gambling players know about the strategies laid out in the book. |
